Center for Christian Formation (CCF) is the new name of the PCS Religion Department, formerly known as Center for Integral Evangelization (CIE).  The new name was adopted last July 2006 by virtue of a directive and through the initiative of the Manila Archdiocesan Parochial Schools Association (MAPSA) where Paco Catholic School as a member.

The former name CIE was meant to encompass a very broad scope, if not all the phases and tasks of evangelization.  Fr. Adrian San Juan. CCF Chairman of
South Manila said that "integral evangelization" was really value to describe the tasks of the Religion Department.  Therefore, from this broad scope, it was trimmed down into Christian Formation

Formation, specifically Catholic Formation is only one of the tasks of the Religion Department for evangelization.  This might seem to be simple, but formation is a multi-faceted task.

Pastoral Ministry is one of the four areas of the Center for Christian Formation and as such is concerned with the "doing" part or aspect of te Faith. It is inspired by the message of Jesus Christ in Lk. 4:18-19. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of the sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord."

General Responsibility

Formulates consciousness raising and involvement programs to emphasize the schools' unity with the church mission of becoming a "church of the poor."

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Forms research groups to undertake study on socio-economic, political and ecological concerns
  2. Launches consciousness-raising campaign in the campus
  3. Facilitates forums, seminars and teach-ins
  4. Schedules exposure and immersion activities for multi-sectoral members of the community
  5. Initiates solicitation of professional and material assistance from the different sectors of the community
  6. Identifies and recommends to the CIE Chairperson targeted beneficiary sectors of the parish or community
  7. Schedules "gift-giving" activities to targeted beneficiaries
  8. Identifies and pursues means of protecting the school environment and its surrounding
  9. Act as link between the school and the parish
