Before its inception in June 1998 the HRMD Office use to be called Personnel Office whose main job involves personnel records management, monitoring attendance, salary administration, interpretation and implementation of school policies, assistance on employees’ welfare and benefits, personnel development but exclusively for support service personnel or Non-Teaching employees. All work related to the faculty are taken cared of by the respective principals of the High School and Grade School departments. After adapting the name as RDPO or Research Development and Personnel Office and later to its present name as HRMDO or Human Resource Management and Development Office, the function of the erstwhile Personnel Office practically remains the same except that the office now caters to all kinds of employees of the school; Teaching, Academic Non-Teaching and Non – Teaching personnel. Consequently, the functions of the office mentioned in the first paragraph expanded which include; the conduct of yearly performance evaluation of employees, administration of the self-managed PCS Wellness Program that gives a package of medical benefit for employees and preparation of yearly appointment of personnel etc.. By relieving the principals with tasks which are non-academic in nature such as monitoring daily teachers’ attendance and keeping their 201 files will make them focus their energy and time on purely academic matters, which after all, is their primary responsibility. Furthermore, the transfer of responsibility (over non-academic concern) to the HRMD Office was a welcome development to the principals because it afforded them the opportunity to hone their skills and competencies in administration and supervision through furtherance of their professional growth, in – service training, seminar and workshop and other means of advancement. More capable administrators render quality education the benefit of which will cascade to the real beneficiaries – the student clientele. |
