The Guidance Center, a fundamental and indispensable part in the holistic development of the students, believes that every student is a unique individual whose needs must be met with individual attention and understanding. As an integral part of education, the Guidance Center provides efficient guidance services through the programs set up and implemented by the Guidance Counselors together with the class advisers and the assistance of various agencies. To assist each student to develop his capacity to the fullest, this office encourages the students to avail of its services.

Purpose of the Program

Make the counseling program an integral part of the total education program

Impart specific skills and learning opportunities in a pro-active, preventive manner, to ensure that the students can achieve school success through academic, career and personal/social development experiences

Guidance Services

Admission. The admission policy used is based on a set of criteria which aims to screen students who can potentially meet the academic standard of the school. The applicants may merit admission through competitive entrance examinations and interview by Admission Committee.

Orientation. This service seeks to assist the students to know and understand the philosophy, goals and objectives of the school, the various services the school offers and the physical plant and facilities which they are privileged to utilize and enjoy.

Individual Inventory Service. This service is the process of collecting information about each student. Information relating to interests, aptitudes, experiences, family background, plans and needs of the individual student are cumulatively gathered and compiled.

Counseling Service. This service assists each student to make more effective adjustments to the environment in which he lives. This center provides individual interviews and assistance in emotional and psychological problems encountered by the students.

Testing. This service Involves the administration and test interpretation of standardized psychological tests concerning achievement, intelligence, aptitude, interest, personality, etc. which help the students understand and accept their strengths as well as their deficiencies.

Information Service. This service deals on the dissemination of information through seminars, talks, individuals or small group discussions, handouts and brochures regarding personal, social, emotional and career concerns.

Placement Service. This helps students follow through the plans they have made for the future while still in school like selection of courses and school in college.

Coordination. This service is the process of coordinating with school and community personnel to bring together resources of students and using an effective referral process for assisting students and others to use special programs and services. BACK TO TOP
