Day_Care

The San Fernando de Dilao Parish Day Care Center was born in 1987 through the initiative of Rev. Fr. Manny Seranilla, the Parochial Vicar then and Mrs. Divina Holandez, a PCS alumna and the Parish Social Worker.  Before the program started, the initial project was to offer scholarship program intended for deserving students of the depressed families especially the poorest of the poor in the area.  It was Msgr. Gerardo Santos, then Parochial Vicar and currently the President of the MAPSA Executive Council whose love, commitment and concern for the needy, who initiated this scholarship program using his own money to support this project. When Msgr. Gerardo Santos went to Rome for further studies, Fr. Manny Seranilla took over.  It was by luck that during a medical mission initiated  by Mrs. Holandez in Area 1 of the parish, a group of German philanthropist visited the area. Mrs. Anita Rischmuller, the wife of Mr. Ludolf Rischmuller, approached Mrs. Holandez and inquired about the project.  Mrs. Holandez briefed Mrs. Rischmuller about various programs and projects of the Parish that are intended for the poor families of the Parish.  She offered assistance and requested for a meeting with her husband. After a thorough presentation of the parish programs, Mr. Rischmuller, the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank promised to support the day care program.  A meeting was set with the Parish Priest, Bishop Teodoro C. Bacani, Jr.  They agreed that the day care program would be solely funded by the German benefactors including the salaries of the day care workers. In 1997, Msgr. Domingo A. Cirilos, Jr. the Parish Priest and School Director of Paco Catholic School effected some changes to make the Day Care Program a collaborative effort of the parish and the school.  The curriculum, student activities and faculty development program are directly supervised by the PCS Early Childhood Education Principal.  Since then, various clubs and organizations of the school have extended their outreach programs to the parents and children of the day care classes.  The Parish Social Action Committee works hand in hand with Paco Catholic School in service for the poor families of the parish. There are six day care centers existing: one located at Quirino Avenue for Area 1, one at Paco Catholic School compound for Areas 2,3,4,5,6 and 7, Zulueta Street for Areas 8,9, one class at Ducepec Area 10, one at Sayson Street for Areas 10, 11, 12, and one at Mother Ignacia Social Apostolate Center for Area 13.

The Parish Store is located beside the Parish Office.
